Program
The screening-program of the Global Perspectives Film Conference uses a variety of cinematic forms to explore the potential of representing global issues through film. Post-screening discussions with creative filmmakers, media professionals, and experts offer a unique forum for film and education practitioners as well as interested audiences. For decades, the Film Conference has provided participants with inspiration and guidance on how to convey political and social issues in countries of the Global South. This includes fostering a nuanced approach to visual media and examining the role of media in educational processes.
The development of film literacy and artistic engagement with diverse moving-image formats plays a central role. In addition to the film program, the conference offers workshops, masterclasses with directors, and our IN FOCUS panel series, which addresses current issues in the Global South and their representation in the media.
